I’m Anthony Parker, founder and head coach of Top Flight Defensive Back Academy, and my journey is a powerful reminder that with belief in yourself and guidance from those who see your potential, anything is possible. After retiring from the NFL in 2004, I returned to O-D Camp in Southern California, the same camp that sparked my journey. As a sophomore in high school, I attended this camp and had the privilege of meeting two legendary defensive backs: Ronnie Lott and Lester Hayes. Their unwavering belief in me, long before I believed in myself, ignited a fire that pushed me to achieve things I once thought were out of reach.

That belief set the stage for everything that followed: earning Preseason Blue Chip All-American honors as a wide receiver, First-Team All-Conference recognition for my play at WR, DB, RB, and kick returner at Thornton High School. At Weber State University, where I played for three years, I was named First-Team All-Big Sky, earned invites to prestigious all-star bowl games (Blue-Gray and Senior Bowl), and was ranked the 12th best cornerback in the nation by USA Today. My journey took me to the NFL, where I was selected in the 4th round of the 1999 Draft by the 5-time Super Bowl Champion San Francisco 49ers, a team that taught me the true meaning of hard work, teamwork, and excellence.

Though knee injuries eventually cut my playing career short, my passion for the game and my commitment to helping the next generation of defensive backs never wavered. Through Top Flight Defensive Back Academy, I’m dedicated to helping young athletes realize their full potential, just as Ronnie Lott and Lester Hayes did for me. Top Flight DB Academy training takes place at the Nike Sports Complex in Naperville, Illinois, during the early morning hours, while most are still sleeping. We push our athletes to start the day with intensity, whether we’re training on turf, grass, or in the sandpit. Each session is designed to elevate skills, with some training being done off-site depending on the overall mission. This unique approach ensures our athletes are always ready for the challenges ahead, physically and mentally.
